"Love to love, but love is not my only crime..." So sang Afghan Whigs frontman Greg Dulli back in the 90's. From this line of text took LoveIsNotMyOnlyCrime their name and from the Afghan Whigs took the band, at least in the begining, their influence. Today the music, on the one hand, could be described as a lovechild between 70's Tom Petty and 90's Jesus and Mary Chain. Dark, dreamlike and harmonic with an undertone of desperation and anxiety that only a small town childhood could generate. On the other, there's the optimism and hope of Springsteen, melodic, loud and joyous. LoveIsNotMyOnlyCrime - There is a light at the end of the tunnel. |
